Eight Education Conferences to Attend in 2023

Education conferences are a great way for teachers and administrators to learn new instructional strategies, network with peers, and be refreshed and rejuvenated. As you plan out 2023, be sure to make time for professional development, whether you attend in person or virtually. Below we have highlighted conferences for global and language educators, plus general education conferences we think would be valuable for you.

NCASCD Annual Conference

The North Carolina Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development is hosting its annual conference for educators across the state. Hear from fellow administrators, teachers, and educators in more than 30 sessions as they share their best practices with you.

FLANC Spring and Fall Conference

K-20 world language and dual language educators will not want to miss the Foreign Language Association of North Carolina’s annual conferences. The Spring Conference in March is a recap of sessions from the Fall 2022 Conference and includes site visits of dual language immersion schools.

SXSW EDU

SXSW EDU is offering more than 185 crowdsourced sessions for their 2023 conference. With an emphasis on themes such as justice, equity, and teacher retention, you’re sure to find lots of sessions that interest you, plus networking opportunities.

NCASA Annual Conference on Educational Leadership

If you are a school or district administrator, the North Carolina Association of School Administrators offers the chance to connect and learn from other leaders across the state. Sessions cover instructional leadership, increasing equity, family engagement, and more.

NAFSA Annual Conference

NAFSA: Association of International Educators, is hosting its 75th annual conference and expo dedicated to global educators and cultural exchange. Connect with educators from all over the world and learn new instructional strategies and best practices.

  • May 30-June 2, 2023 in Washington, DC

WIDA Annual Conference

For K-12 educators supporting multilingual learners, WIDA’s annual conference is a great way to share ideas and practical applications for language learning. Their assets-based approach to learning means all students are valued for their unique contributions to any classroom environment.

  • October 17-20, 2023 in Milwaukee, WI

La Cosecha

La Cosecha is the largest dual language conference in the U.S., bringing together thousands of educators, researchers, and practitioners. In 2021 and 2022, the conference was offered in a hybrid format so participants could attend in person or virtually.

  • November 8-11, 2023 in Albuquerque, NM

ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo

The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages annual convention offers language educators access to hundreds of different speakers and sessions. Learn about the newest research, instruction, and timely topics in language education.
