What is the Ambassador Teacher Program?

At Participate Learning, we are committed to providing all students with access to meaningful educational opportunities while encouraging them to think beyond their local communities. We are passionate about global learning and proudly partner with districts and schools. These partnerships help educators integrate global content into existing curricula, developing thoughtful future leaders equipped to create positive change.

Introducing the Ambassador Teacher Program

For over thirty years, Participate Learning has successfully placed thousands of cultural exchange teachers in schools across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. We partner with these schools to host more than 1,100 high-quality international teachers each year. These Ambassador Teachers bring their unique cultural perspectives into their classrooms by embedding them into the curriculum, broadening students’ understanding of the world.

Participate Learning’s Ambassador Teachers make a profound impact on their entire school communities. They broaden perspectives, encourage cultural awareness, foster reciprocal learning, and create enriching experiences for the whole student body. By sharing their personal experiences, Ambassador Teachers help students explore global competencies and build their identities as active and thoughtful contributors to the global community.

Participate Learning continues to enhance opportunities for schools by bringing global education to life through the Ambassador Teacher program. This initiative builds on the placement of teachers by providing additional resources for school leaders and fellow educators.

Benefits of the Ambassador Teacher Program

We have created a package of resources to complement the work of Ambassador Teachers with three main goals in mind—professional growth, collaboration, and building a strong foundation for long-term partnerships. Here are the benefits to schools that invest in the program:

  • Communities of Practice: Principals will connect with other school leaders across North Carolina to share ideas and learn from each other’s experiences.
  • Online Professional Development: Principals gain access to a collection of professional development courses, with opportunities to earn renewal credits through our digital badge program.
  • In-Person Professional Development: Partnering principals can collaborate in person, working toward the common goal of fostering global perspectives in their schools.
  • Marketing Support: Our marketing team works with schools to develop branded materials that highlight their successes. We amplify a school’s progress through posts on our social media platforms.

The Ambassador Teacher program enhances school leaders’ understanding of global education, increases program visibility through marketing support, and provides additional professional development opportunities for principals. This partnership is much more than hiring a teacher—it is a chance for school leaders and staff to embark on a journey that values and prioritizes the transformative power of global education. To learn more about how our programs can bring globally focused education to your school, visit our global programs web page or contact us directly.
