Read on to discover more about our B Corp story.

Facilitating cultural exchange worldwide

Cultural exchange is one of the fundamental pillars of how we shape the world around us. The more knowledgeable children become about the cultures, languages, and people around the globe, the more prepared they will be to lead and thrive in our interconnected world. Our teachers are among the most highly qualified and experienced educators worldwide, and along with the engaging classroom environments they create, they act as ambassadors of their cultures for their students, schools, and communities.

When our ambassador teachers arrive in the U.S., they sharpen their professional skills, participate in cross-cultural activities, and assimilate into their local communities. They impact those around them while also learning about American culture throughout their time in the States. After this part of the exchange, they return to their home schools and countries to share their knowledge and experiences of the U.S., which helps to increase cultural understanding on both sides and makes the world feel a bit smaller.

In the 21st century, the world stays connected in real time. Students need to be prepared to interact with people from all over the world and to approach diverse situations with curiosity, confidence, and empathy for others. The interpersonal skills students gain from their time in the classroom with an international teacher open their world by teaching them cultural competence and cultural appreciation that will help them succeed in every environment.

Immersing students in a new language

As the world becomes increasingly more interconnected, the need for highly skilled, multilingual workers is at its highest. When students are immersed in a new language from a young age, their minds and futures are enriched, and they are equipped with the global competencies that enable them to connect with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. Students who speak more than one language are more likely to be strong communicators, collaborators, and problem-solvers.

We partner with schools and districts to build dual language programs that create authentic and immersive language learning experiences for students. The goals of these programs are to teach students to speak, listen, read, and write in both English and Spanish or Mandarin Chinese, to enhance cognitive skills that support academic achievement in all content areas, and to prepare students to be leaders in a culturally diverse setting.

At Participate Learning, our mission is to unite our world through global learning. By equipping students with diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning experiences, we are opening the world to the future generation by cultivating a deep understanding and appreciation for differences.
